[EMS Discuss] Target shooting range?

Tue Oct 22 10:09:46 PDT 2013

I really want to see it done! Having a shooting gallery is a dream of mine as well. During the initial plan, I was for the idea of having this be available to members to play and be a recruitment tool.

I have made significant invest in time and money as well, just not since the "contest end". At that time, I thought it was a matter of taper doing a little electrical work. Honestly, if I were to have taken over at that time to finish it, I would have had difficulties in that I have never seriously worked with andrino or serial data. Unfortunately, I have been ill for some time and have not even been in the shop in sometime, but I would love to work on this project more. I just need to know what to do.

If I'm being honest, I am still a bit upset that the last redbull project was scrapped, but I do understand it. These projects are why I joined! For them to disappear, I feel that my time, effort, and money for the project are wasted. My main reason for wanting a bigger space is to have a "trophy area" were the best of our work as a group can be displayed. It's my hope that having a trophy area will encourage group projects and add value to our membership.

Anyway, I'll stop ranting now. I don't want it to go, but if it has to for the good of the organization I will understand.

If we can keep it together and 'finish' it and take it out places, that would be the superior outcome.
> Cord, if you and Taper are willing to involve members in continuing work on this, please let us know. If you reached out already and I missed it, then I apologize. I'd really like to do a video w/ this and document it being used at Blairalley or some other 'hip' and active place.

Taper can come over to my place...not sure he would...but I would see it through. If it needs to get gone I would rather do it now that it is a subject of discussion than continue to annoy people, possibly keeping them from doing there own projects...

We keep talking about getting a bigger space and recently in the other thread there was talk about raising dues. But if we can use our current space more efficiently we might be able to get more done with less in the meantime.
