    :-) Spontaneous activities are great, though to have a bit more
    coordination (read effectiveness) forming a committee  is probably a
    good way to go. Specifically, yes please "take initiative and seek

    I think that yes, all donations probably have to be approved by the
    board. Certainly any that have strings attached. Though there is
    nothing preventing multiple sources of income.<br>

    Yes it would be better if the board was a bit stronger in outreach,
    PR, and thanking our contributors. However our members could take
    the initiative and do a lot of that too. As long as you're not
    committing the organization to anything, only the board can do that.<br>

                  I would be happy to have a sponsor James, and I think
                  some competition would be great as a sponsored
                  activity. However it should be at our shop and ideally
                  it should bring more people there. Now, I'll admit
                  I've been more interested in applying for grants than
                  looking for sponsors that is my bias. I have even done
                  some quick googles for grants we might qualify for
                  when I was board, but currently landing a new space
                  takes most of my time. However I now know of two grant
                  writers in our community that might be available to
