2025 Mission and Values

Eugene Makerspace is a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing a gateway for curious minds to share tools and ideas, contribute to projects, and acquire new skills in a friendly, encouraging environment.

Community Values

  • Practical: Our shared shop has tools to facilitate wood-working, fiber arts, electronics, programming, and more. In-shop tools like 3D printers, CNC machines, and laser cutters help bridge the digital/physical divide.
  • Social: Our community helps point each other in the right direction to unlock knowledge and bring novel ideas to life. We strive to make both creative and practical tinkering fun, educational, and accessible.
  • Educational: We offer hands-on training sessions and workshops to help make the most of the tools in our shop, and also ensure a safe working environment.
  • Cultural: We hold public events including open mics by donation, which serve both as fundraisers and opportunities to show off our space to potential members who are unfamiliar with the concept of a “makerspace” of “hackerspace” but would benefit from one.

Community Norms

Eugene Makerspace is not the same physical makerspace as it was in 2024 and it is not same makerspace community as it was in 2024. We loved engaging with the wide Eugene community working together on projects, tabling at events, meeting our neighbors, and getting excited about making things together.

We have put together a list of Community Norms we hope everyone will come to an agreement on as we rebuild the space.
