Date is not specified in Governing documents, but by necessity, must conclude prior to Elections Notification.

Candidates for the Board of Directors must have been members in good standing with the GD during the election month, and except for the first BOD, must have also been a member in good standing for the two preceding months, or any three months in the five preceding months, or any five months in the preceding eleven months before the election month. A Candidate must also be nominated, and accept, by another member in good standing.

The annual election of the EMS Board of Directors shall be on the first Saturday of December, and 30 days notice of the time, place, and complete list of all items to be voted on shall be sent to the general membership via common communication channels

Oct 31 (23:59:59 Pacific) – Deadline for Nominations/Acceptance
Nov 1 (day of) – Message sent out with information regarding candidates, other issues to be decided (if any)
Last Saturday in Nov (day of) – Online Voting opens.
First Saturday in Dec (20:00:00 Pacific) – All Voting Ends.
That Evening/Following Day – Election Results will be reported, as they become available.

Described in governing documents as 30 days before the date of election. Scheduled as November 1 for simplicity’s sake – as November 1 will always meet this requirement.

Date and timing of this is not specified in the governing documents. EMS_Voting document makes mention of ‘often starting’ online voting at the two-weeks-prior mark, but in practice the actual scheduling has been so erratic that precedent is unhelpful.

For 2025, as many of our regular members and potential candidates and voters had a year of no space to pay for, we postponed the election by 1 week to allow some time for people to become paid members in good standing prior to the election. The new schedule looks like:
