Makerspace Rebuild – November 2025 Progress

We’ve been working away filling up the space with tools, developing our new rules and guidelines, and shaping this thing into what the community wants and needs. This process will continue indefinitely, but we’re starting to look like a real Makerspace again! Soon we will have four rooms available for different sorts of making, and hopefully there will be lots of interplay between the areas.

Room 1 is the Proto-Lab, with 3D printers, a laser cutter, soldering station, and other electronics-related resources.

Room 2 is the Textile Lab, including a variety of sewing machines, looms, spinning wheels, vinyl cutters, paper-craft materials and a photography area.

Organizing thread and installing a utility sink for hand-dying, blocking knits, etc in the Textile Lab

Room 3 is the Versatile Room, including a large table and chairs for project layout and workshops, as well as member storage, a projector, hand tools, etc.

Room 4 is the Wood Shop. Due to the expense and complexity of this area, it will likely be the last completed.

We’re working on adding a partition wall to keep the other areas clear of sawdust, as well as dust collection/ventilation.

There is much left to do so feel free to drop by on Tuesday nights 6-8. These are our Make Your Makerspace work parties and the best place to get up to date on goings on, and where your skill set might fit in. EMS is 100% volunteer-led, so we appreciate any and all support!
